Rodney Sagor is an independent metal musician from Beau-Bassin Mauritius and is also the vocalist of a Mauritian thrash metal band, Amakartus, since 2015.
In 2019, Rodney became passionated with music writing and one-man bands, and started self-recording.
Since 2020, he started to collaborate with modern metal guitarist, Darryl Louis, on "Spare or Slay", on which he added vocal and drum parts (drum programming). Since then, they wrote other songs together, namely “In Darkness We Seek” and “Grotesque” in 2022, and “Choke on Your Own Blood” in 2023. ". In April 2022, Rodney Sagor made a collab song with another Mauritian artist, Anthony Grant (a rock and metal vocalist), called "Undisclosed".
In June 2021, Rodney Sagor released his first single "I'm so Bored..Mari Ggt!!"; and in December 2021, Rodney Sagor released another single called "Maga Dam Gam". In both songs, he partly used his native language, the Mauritian Creole. In February 2022, he released another single called "A Sad Song on Repeat", which tackled a more personal subject. On the 12 of March 2023 (which coincides with Independence Day in Mauritius), Rodney released a song called "Enn Sel Lepep" (meaning "As One People"). The latter phrase is sung in the Mauritian National Anthem, Motherland. However, "Enn Sel Lepep" is a song which express Rodney's raw feelings about racism in Mauritius.
On 23 February 2024, Rodney Sagor released his debut album, "Mare Nwar".
