Rolf Ekstrom

Rolf Ekström
is a talented trumpet player from Sweden with many years experience in his instrument and jazz music.

He has been with many different bands and recording projects throughout his life. He has also been a teacher to several generations of musicians in Sweden, Brazil and has performed in Europe, United States and South America with great success.

His album "Bluish" (2009) with all songs composed and arranged by him received great critics from jazz specialized magazines, including Orkester Journalen, LIRA.

In march 2018, Rolf Ekström was mentioned in the famous jazz magazine "Down Beat" by one of his trumpet students, the great player from Finland Verneri Pohjola: " I didn't realize that I could play the trumpet like this, but now I knew this is what I wanted to do...my teacher at Örebro, Rolf Ekström, was also a big influence on me not quitting the trumpet. In 2022 he composed and recorded the singles: Everybody Goes and Dark Year. Both also available in Spotify and all digital medias.

In 2023, both of these songs were included in the fantastic film "Jane Wålstedt" by Thomas Möller.
