Hailing from South East London, Lewisham Borough, Romao is reshaping the UK music landscape with his self-created genre, Dancehall Grime. This powerful fusion brings together the raw energy of grime and the infectious rhythms of dancehall, creating a sound that’s unapologetic, rebellious, and deeply rooted in his environment.

Heavily influenced by Vybz Kartel, Lil Wayne, and Skepta, Romao draws from Kartel’s commanding presence and Caribbean flavour, Lil Wayne’s wordplay and versatility, and Skepta’s gritty realism. The result is a sound that’s fresh, authentic, and unmistakably his own.

Romao has earned a reputation as one of the most rude and ruthless MCs the UK has ever seen. His signature ad-lib, “Rudeboi,” has become part of London’s street slang, a testament to how deeply he resonates with the culture. Through his music, he encourages people to be bold, confident, and unapologetic in chasing their goals.

Known as the “Black boy straight from Lewi,” Romao is also a key part of the rising collective IUT, with their debut release on the way.
