Romi Rowki is the island dwelling multi-instrumentalist blending heartfelt autobiography with electronic avant garde.
Based between Guernsey and Brighton, she continues to be inspired by the sea and absorbing herself in nature. Music has been as vital as water to her upbringing and she started to play in choirs and orchestras at a young age, adapting to a variety of instruments and honing her ear for harmonies. Working for an electronic music label after finishing her studies, she now marries her love for these two different musical styles in her own work.
Whilst deeply personal you can expect to find yourself relating hard to her emotive lyrics tackling love, loss and everything in between through carefully constructed metaphors, arranged in beautiful layers of harmony. The minimalism you'll see in her fashion choices and staging reflects her less is more approach to songwriting where you can expect to hear expansive soundscapes that allow you to focus on the gentle vocal line.
Romi Rowki first hit the festival stages in 2022 playing two slots at El Dorado festival, and you can hear her playing in both Guernsey and Brighton this year. Her debut single 'Hey Peter', released on 26th April 2024, garnered early support from BBC Music Introducing.
