Since 2010, Ron Morelli has become a major and influential fixture in the world of contemporary electronic music. The New Yorker has single-handedly carved out a unique path of his own, with his often-imitated, rarely duplicated L.I.E.S. Records label. Morelli has, in his own words, has “unintentionally” shaken things up in the electronic music world with his uncompromising sonic aesthetic. Now globally recognised and reaching far beyond New York, Morelli is looked to as a centerpiece of this wave, confounding expectations with each move and always evolving.
Having gained cult status as time has passed, it's no wonder the publication Pitchfork proclaimed, "the rise of L.I.E.S. is one of the most significant and encouraging developments in American underground electronic music in years"
DJing since the late-90s, Morelli has toured globally playing nearly every major club and festival worldwide. Taking his vast knowledge from working behind the counter at NYC's legendary A1 Records, Ron can be found playing stylistically across the board on any given night.
Production-wise he has worked closely with New York label Hospital Productions for years, as well as with Phase Fatale's BITE Records, recording numerous lps and 12 inches for both labels.
Morelli is set to release his first full length on his own L.I.E.S. label in 2023, titled "Heart Stopper", where he revisits his obsession for classic, old school 80s house, bringing his sound full circle.
