Hailing from Monrovia, Liberia, Roo didn’t hear about many who made it to the big stage. Coming to America early in his life ended up being a necessary move for not only him, but also his family. After moving to Idaho, he quickly learned that the demographic didn’t quite look like him. However, his early experiences helped shape him into the multi-hyphenate artist he has grown into today. His music is a reflection of where he’s from. It’s a reflection of the determination his immigrant parents instilled in him. It’s a reflection of being able to sit at every table and fit in just enough to stick around, but not enough to be a regular. His only hope is that you can also find your pocket somewhere in this experience.
