Rooftop Renegades is the musical project of twin brothers Koen en Jo Smets (‘The Voice of Flanders 2014’). They are unique vocalists but equally so excellent musicians. Their first E.P., “Knocking At My Door” was produced by Dominique Vantomme (Axelle Red).
Rooftop Renegades want to create their own musical world by going back to a really pure sound. Their music cannot be captured within one genre but is enrichened by Americana, folk, pop, indie, country …
Koen and Jo are both singer-songwriters and write most of their songs themselves.

At the end of 2016 they started working together with Cricket Hill Music and so far released 5 singles and one E.P. ('Keep On Walking' - 2020). Their more recent work is often described as a mix between Maroon 5 and One Republic. Their track‘Danger’ was written in the U.K. and licensed to 12 countries. Robert Abigail (of The Mojito Song fame) did a splendid remix.
Their single, ‘Keep On Walking’, went to number 1 in Holland and was released in many countries again.
They did a German tour, first week of March 2019, and were the sound-bed for the European campaign of 'Universal Audio'.
As an introduction to their new E.P. 'Keep On Walking' they released 'Lights On (Winterlights)' a remix of one of their songs by Ollin Kan, Violonist of Klingande.
Rooftop Renegades is definitely still going for a broad audience.
