Roots Rising

Roots Rising is the highly regarded live reggae/hip hop sensation from the Eastern Netherlands. Since 2014 they have been touring the Netherlands and Europe with their unique mix of reggae/ska, hip hop and latin music. They can do it all: harmony singing, raps, bombastic horns and a groovy rhythm section make sure that no corner of music is left forgotten.

With all that party comes a message: “Peace, Love, Unity and having fun!” and at a Roots Rising concert this message is clear to see: it is so much an 11-piece band as a family around the band-members and a community around the name. Expect an energetic show that will keep your heart, mind, soul and body active from start to finish! The band has been booked at famous festivals in Netherlands and abroad such as MadNes, Zwarte Cross and Boomtown Fair (UK).

Their newest single "Wake up Now" is made during the first lockdown when their keys player was stuck in South Africa. With a featuring of South Africa's queen of hip-hop YOMA this track is a wake up call to the world: "lets use the momentum of this current corona crisis to change the system to be more sustainable and less greed oriented!"
The band is now working on their 3rd record with the support of Hedon Productiehuis.
