Hey! I’m Rory Alcantar, an adventurer with a guitar and a camera. In 2017, I wrote Portugal’s chords in my grandma’s tiny Los Angeles room, later crafting its lyrics amid Portugal’s stunning landscapes. As a mostly self-taught multi-instrumentalist, I created Portugal—a punchy, uplifting rock song blending synth melodies with joyful, peaceful energy.
My debut EP, Wanderers, captures life’s highs and introspective lows, inspired by travels to Europe, Hawai’i, the Pacific Northwest, and beyond. My photography—vivid, soulful shots from those journeys—forms the artwork, echoing the music’s adventurous feeling. Subtly woven with faith, Wanderers reflects my search for a true home, found after years of wandering.
