Round Buddah is an Auckland-based R&B/hip-hop band that explores daring instrumental arrangements and raw, honest lyrics. Since forming in 2014, their style has morphed from an instrumental group to the current lineup of Holly Afoa (vocals), Jackson Lester (rap), Sam Nash (bass), Tom Taylor (keys/synths), and Chris Townsend (drums). Round Buddah released their first single, Rejected, in June 2017. The song was picked up by Spotify's Fresh Finds: Fire Emoji playlist, leading to an international following. The band released their debut EP, People and Trees, in October, with a sold-out show in Auckland. Round Buddah played their first major festival at Rhythm & Vines in Gisborne on New Year's Eve 2017.
