Royal Chant is a 2-piece independent underground juggernaut that started off as just another "guitar band" with good hair at the tail end of Australia's last indie/alt rock heyday and instead of doing the smart thing and packing it in like the rest of their Triple-J one-hit wünderkind peers they kept going, growing, changing, and keeping their heads down until they slowly transformed into the unlikeliest of things: a unique musical outfit fueled by outstanding songwriting and a captivating visceral live-act that fuses poetry, power chords, honesty, vulnerability, humanity, a blue-collar work ethic, and artistic ambition. All from the coastal wilds of regional NSW.
This band shouldn't really exist, and yet here they are, still going, dreaming not of fame and fortune but of great songs to be written and amazing shows to play.
Currently at work on studio album #11, because of course.
