Ryan 'Roymega' Munson is a music producer/multi-instrumentalist/entrepreneur from Sioux City, IA. He co-founded the music collective, Fight Club Music; with long-time friend Aaron Jensen.
Although Ryan has played a number of musical instruments from a very early age, it wasn't until the summer of 2009 that he began composing and arranging beats. Inspired by artists like <a href="spotify:artist:4V8LLVI7PbaPR0K2TGSxFF" data-name="Tyler, The Creator">Tyler, The Creator</a>, Ryan was fascinated by his all-round hands-on approach used on his solo debut album, Bastard (2009). To do all that and achieve such great success really resonated with Ryan. Between 2011-2017 he released six instrumental compilations simply titled 'The Beats'. As a collection it was well received by a small pool of listeners. If nothing else, the reception received from his instrumentals alone made Ryan realize he could do something with his music, not just have fun with it as a hobby.
His other Hip Hop influences include <a href="spotify:artist:2fSaE6BXtQy0x7R7v9IOmZ" data-name="Aesop Rock">Aesop Rock</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1GAS0rb4L8VTPvizAx2O9J" data-name="Atmosphere">Atmosphere</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7HqrSDuI9lHuH1CDismTFg" data-name="AZ">AZ</a>, <a href="spotify:playlist:7BnkLSWyEnoZh3KiI91ZWg" data-name="Cunninglynguists">Cunninglynguists</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0fA0VVWsXO9YnASrzqfmYu" data-name="Kid Cudi">Kid Cudi</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:01QTIT5P1pFP3QnnFSdsJf" data-name="Lupe Fiasco">Lupe Fiasco</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0Mz5XE0kb1GBnbLQm2VbcO" data-name="Mos Def">Mos Def</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:20qISvAhX20dpIbOOzGK3q" data-name="Nas">Nas</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1LyTmnoxLipUwTEHWSRziG" data-name="Prof">Prof</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0ONHkAv9pCAFxb0zJwDNTy" data-name="Pusha T">Pusha T</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2E78kTKamtXgdRkK1jrc0f" data-name="Sage Francis">Sage Francis</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:78xUyw6FkVZrRAtziFdtdu" data-name="The Roots">The Roots</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6DVipHzYsPlIoA0DW8Gmns" data-name="Royce Da 5'9"">Royce Da 5'9"</a>, among several others. While Hip Hop & Rap have had a large influence in Ryan's musical development, it's not all he's about. He also draws on influences from bands such as <a href="spotify:artist:36QJpDe2go2KgaRleHCDTp" data-name="Led Zeppelin">Led Zeppelin</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4Z8W4fKeB5YxbusRsdQVPb" data-name="Radiohead">Radiohead</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:0L8ExT028jH3ddEcZwqJJ5" data-name="Red Hot Chili Peppers">Red Hot Chili Peppers</a>, as well as artists like <a href="spotify:artist:7mRVAzlt1fAAR9Cut6Rq8c" data-name="Dave Grohl">Dave Grohl</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3GBPw9NK25X1Wt2OUvOwY3" data-name="Jack Johnson">Jack Johnson</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:7rN3Agir6FaZNfhf5V7mfN" data-name="John Frusciante">John Frusciante</a>. The only thing for sure is he isn't interested in following the latest trends or fads. He's more interested in breaking new ground.
