Ruby Diamond

Brooklyn based musician Reuben Diamond was born into a house filled with an eclectic range of music – from classical to blues, from classic rock to jazz and everything in between. Trained in the Japanese approach to learning music by ear, his multi-instrumental education began at three when he pleaded for violin lessons. Growing up in a musical environment at home, Reuben explored his soulful, curious nature through piano, drums, guitar, and all the tools available for a young composer, songwriter, and budding recording artist.


Creating and curating music, Reuben seeks an elevated space where people find solace from the frenetic pace of modern life, are grounded in the natural world, and reach a heightened state of consciousness. Pursuing his formal education in an integrated music program at the University of Arizona, Reuben graduated in 2018.


Reuben's debut solo single is Phoenix Rising, a lush, melodic dream connecting the listener to the earth, the sun, the moon while the rough edges and anxieties of modern life are softened and soothed. A fusion of psychedelia, blues and soul, Phoenix Rising layers gentle beats with Ruby’s hypnotic croon, embracing the hearer like a tender hug.


Independently released, Phoenix Rising, written, recorded, and produced from his Brooklyn home studio, and mixed and mastered at Kudzu Recordings in Brooklyn, NY, will be followed by The River and an EP titled 'Twin Flames' in the Fall
