Ruby Velle has been making ‘real' music for over thirteen years and feels she is always just beginning. Born in Canada, and raised in the US, Velle is of Indian descent. She has been a cultural alchemist when it comes to expressing matters of the soul. As a singer, songwriter and front woman, she has been encountering success since 2012, with Billboard charting singles - that became iTunes and Starbucks "Pick of the Week" tracks. “Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics,” a powerhouse soul band that Velle fronts, has shaped hearts and minds of the public in a positive way for over a decade. In 2018, the band released their sophomore album “State of All Things” to more industry acclaim and a fan base championing their indie/DIY mentality.
Ruby has performed alongside some legendary musicians such as Corey Glover, Bernard Purdie, Lee Fields, Gary Clark Jr., Fred Wesley, and Binky Griptite. The next chapter for Velle is an exciting one with the release of “Fighter” and “Go Get It”, her first two solo releases of the year. Her first single, “Fighter” is appearing on HBO and “Go Get It” debuted on Showtime’s Shameless Season premiere episode. Velle is on tour in the US with the Soulphonics while continuing to collaborate with producers and artists.
