Rudy Strife, aka STRYFR, is a dystopian lyricist, producer, bboy, graffiti writer, and sonic mystic born in Moscow USSR and raised as a refugee in NYC’s concrete jungle. In 80s, he grew up in Brick City and found Hip Hop at age 10; boogie n breakin, graff, rhyming, developing his martial arts street knowledge like a second language. Through the 90s–00s he moved through the underground NYC Hip Hop, DnB, rave, and HC circuits: LES, BK, NWK, NJ, Philly, streets, clubs, warehouses, asylums, lots, lofts, basements, rooftops, tunnels, and parks, 2010s ночные московские гулянки бухать до сознания)) мир=мир
His music is forged from spiritual dreamwork, psychoanalysis, trauma alchemy, survival hustle, ingenuity, and decades of battling addiction, pain, street grind, hate, toxic love, and near-death darkness. These experiences sharpened a voice that floats between dark rap, experimental hip hop, boom bap grit, and psychedelic bass. STRYFR’s sound is built on deep drums, shadowy atmospheres, and prophetic bars that blur memory, wisdom, life, death, power, and rebirth.
From bboy cyphers to bass breaking sound design, from graffiti walls to spiritual warfare, STRYFR transforms scars into scripture. His mom’s battle with illness, her wisdom, and love; his exiled roots fuel+feed the hunger. After being built in NJ/NYC, a decade in Moscow, now Strife Studios is on the Jerz Shore, building a mythos where underground Hip Hop becomes a weapon, a tool, and a map through the multiverse.
