Toronto band, Running Red Lights, takes a dive into the weird and wonderful world of pop psychedelia with the long-awaited release of the third single in their retirement series, ISADORA.

Isadora is yet another fresh sound for a band that has explored everything from classic 50’s AM country to 80’s dark wave. This time RRL takes a dive into the weird and wonderful world of pop psychedelia. The song opens intimately to a mesmerizing soft vocal and a Mellotron piano that sway back and forth like a cradle song. In the span of a few measures Isadora unpredictably unfurls over a fuzz guitar that rushes like water toward a technicolor collage of piano, electronics, Prince-styled harmonies and a distinct 1967 Beatles influence. Isadora builds into an entrancing and amplifying interplay of orchestral instrumentation. It’s a fittingly cinematic escalation for a song about the uncomprehending power of collective human consciousness and universality. The melody sails and swells through the dreamy imagined world of Isadora before waking where it began, with a lullaby. The song closes with Scarlett’s voice softly passing on the sage and timely reminder that we are more alike than we are unalike and that everyone carries within them the possibility of a changed world.
