Scraping through the global pandemic and broken bones, Ruse released their debut album, "Set Out to Starve,” on June 8th 2020. The Peninsula-based indie and Alternative rock band hit the scene in early 2019. Grant MacKenzie and Hunter Johnson met years before and quickly bonded over 90's Rock and songwriting. Ruse formed when Tai Hofmeister joined the duo on drums. With a band in place, the trio were ready to blast their original music featuring a blend of Indie, Punk, Folk, and Alt Rock flavor. Ruse brings thoughtful lyrical themes and explosive energy to live shows throughout the Bay Area. If there is one thing Ruse swears by, it is giving it their all.
