Born 1968 in Oklahoma City, Rusty grew up in the suburbs of Dallas, where he was in the high school band and played varsity baseball. He was also steeped in classic rock from artists like The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Eagles, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, and so many others. Rusty also grew up with the '80s and indie/alternative acts like R.E.M., The Smiths, The Cure, and The Cult. Later influences include artists such as Rob Thomas and Matchbox Twenty, Gin Blossoms, and Pearl Jam.
In addition to writing and recording music, Rusty enjoys the production side of record-making, and has a freelance mixing website at HornedOwlRecords.com.
