Ryan began working with producer Pete Masitti in 2015, and subsequently signed a three-song publishing deal with Audio Network, Ltd. Ryan's pop song, "You're All I Want", immediately made it onto Audio Network's Top 40 Downloads list upon release, and was used on ABC's Dancing with the Stars (2017), the Steve Harvey TV Show, Taste of the Country (Netflix); it continues to be used on the UK tv programme Coronation Street. His song "Never Distant" was also used in the film "Los del tunel" (Spain) in 2016.

In April 2017, Ryan released his first full-length album, “Back, Before the Fight”, which spans years of overwhelming stories, ranging from sweet & longing, to angst-filled melancholy. The album’s best examples of its war-torn and battle-themed songs is “Missing You”, highlighting love in its most conflicted moments. Ethereal guitars and pianos set up serious, dramatic builds, and lead to climactic conclusions – that beg and plead for a resolution. “Wreckage” tells an epic story of avoiding disaster, through a past love – only to wonder if she’ll return. "You're All I Want" is available on the Deluxe Edition CD (available on Soundcloud).

Three new songs have been released since Back, Before the Fight, following a move to North Texas: "First Responder", "Crashing Down" and "Whether or Not". Ryan continues to write and record, anticipating future releases.
