Ryo Nagano
Musician:
Born in Hiroshima prefecture Japan, graduated from Keio University.
During childhood his family moved to the United States for his father’s work. While there he started to take violin lessons from a friend of the family. Shortly afterwards he became captivated by MTV and the idea of creating his own music.
On returning to Japan he devoted himself to playing the guitar. After joining a band he moved to Tokyo in 1998 to go to university. There he discovered a wide range of musical influences, developed a love of composition and formed Sync and APOGEE. One of his first demos was well received and kick started his vocal career.
In 2006, APOGEE released their debut album “夜間飛行”（Night Flight） on a major label. Three more albums followed, “Fantastic”, “Touch in Light” and “夢幻タワー”（Illusion Tower）.
In 2010 he started producing and composing music for commercials as well as for other artists. In 2011 he released his solo debut album, “はじめよう”（Let’s start with).
Then in 2013, after a short break, the original members of APOGEE got back together. So far they have released two albums, “OUT OF BLUE” and “Higher Deeper”.
In 2021, Ryo’s home studio “ateoto” was completed in Noto, Ishikawa Prefecture. He now divides his time between Noto and Tokyo.
