Saaj is a Pakistani rapper and singer-songwriter based in Islamabad. His main genre is a unique blend of Hip Hop and Indie with a focus on lyrics that tell stories of life in all its terrible beauty.
Born in Islamabad, Saaj moved to Sana'a Yemen before the age of 1 and grew up with Arabs in the tribalest of places. He spent a lot of time travelling the world and attended University in the U.S. until the Yemeni civil war forced him to start life over in Pakistan. He moved back to Pakistan in 2013 after losing everything in the Arab Springs revolution and subsequent civil war in Yemen. Saaj was a prolific listener of music since a young age, counting Linkin Park, Led Zeppelin and Metallica among his favorites and had a penchant for playing the guitar and writing lyrics but it wasn't until his mid 20s when he came across Lil Peep, XXXTENTACION and other cloud rappers that his interest in writing and performing rap grew. Writing songs became the only catharsis Saaj had left and it eventually pulled him out of the abyss. He now resides in Islamabad and is on the pursuit of happiness through music.
