Sabina Khujaeva Abay is a composer and pianist whose music lives in the space between cultures, traditions, and sonic experimentation. She creates works shaped by rich timbral palettes, inventive rhythmic energy, and expressive nuance, moving fluidly between acoustic, electroacoustic, and spatial forms. Her passion for the visual arts infuses her compositions with a cinematic quality, bringing vivid imagery and atmosphere to sound.
She has collaborated with ensembles such as the Hezarfen Ensemble, Schallfeld Ensemble, and Omnibus Ensemble, with performances at international festivals. Notable works include Luminescences, Astray, Ardent Meditation, and the original soundtrack for the film Cadi, adapted from Hüseyn Gürpınar’s novel.
Currently, she is Ph.D student at MİAM, where she focuses her research on the phenomenon of spatial music.
