South London-based artist Sabiyha is putting humanity to the forefront of their music as they explore and expose the most vulnerable and empowering parts of themselves. Weaving reality through their music, Sabiyha navigates themes of sex, queerness, trauma, sisterhood, and mental health on their debut EP 'Sheerkhan' which is out now.
When it comes to inspiration, Sabiyha turns to the cultures and communities closest to their as a queer, POC person. Motivated by their mother’s story of ambition, the British-Guyanese artist has adorned their latest project with lyrics and textures that honour their roots. From family voice notes to Bangla-style beats, Sabiyha has ensured their history, identity, and individuality are more than present in their work.
With their previous singles having gathered support from the likes of The Guardian, Gay Times, NOTION, Gal-Dem, NME, The Line Of Best Fit, Nadine Shah, Jess Iszatt, and BBC Radio 1's Jack Saunders, Sabiyha is ready to set bigger, bolder plans in 2025.
