secret. RocAFella considered
signing the rapper fresh out of
High School. Instead, Sacred
focused his energy on
producing beats for upcoming
rappers like himself. Sacred’s
influences include Jay-Z, TI,
Dame Dash, and Irv Gotti. In
“My Turn”, the rapper
describes how he is self-made
and self-paid. With music
streaming services, rappers
are choosing to remain
independent or sign
partnership deals instead of the “
360” deal that gives record labels a portion of everything including merchandise. By staying
independent, Sacred was able to grow on his own terms and help others succeed without third-party
interference.
