Safe is a Filipino Alternative/Funk/ Rock band formed in 2018 by lead vocalist /guitarist Aik Macaraig, bassist Howell Cenzon, drummer Riel Victor Sopena and lead guitarist Allen Zotomayor. The band’s name is contrary to the way they play. They take risks with their music and not just swiftly moving with the current trends.

Originality is their core and the age old saying “play safe” is not embedded in their veins. “We liked the name, cause everytime we perform live we always say, ‘Hi! we’re safe’, but the name simply doesn’t define us’’.

Aik (Vocalist) and Allen ( Guitarist) embarked on their indie music dream in 2016 with their first band. The next year, their former drummer left to study music in Australia, so the boys invited Riel to take over the drums. Howell, the brother of their former drummer, completed the quartet, handling the bass.

“I always say playing music keep us crazy and sane at the same time.” Allen says. As of 2022 the band has been able to record 6 songs and they are gearing up for their next single under PolyEast Records.
