Named after the desktop folder that stored years of dreamlike demos, Safekeeping is the ethereal embodiment of its members’ closeness. Formed in Chicago by longtime friends Kaylee Lynch (vocals), Leo D’Ambrosio (guitar), Shawn Rieke (keys/additional vocals), Jack Dailly (bass) and Brennan Gilbert (drums), the project glistens with a warmth of calming familiarity. This warmth is reflected on their most recent single “Apparition,” in which Lynch’s rich vocals merge with fluid harmonies and pulsing synths to create an air that holds its listeners tightly.
