Born and raised in Chennai, Sahana is a multilingual, genre-fluid artist who sings in multiple languages but her true talent is forgetting lyrics right before hitting record. Classically trained in Carnatic and Hindustani music, she grew up surrounded by music that made no sense together but somehow worked—from A.R. Rahman and Ilaiyaraaja to The Strokes and Regina Spektor. The result? A sound that refuses to stay in one lane, much like her train of thought.
