Saint Coelacanth is the unhinged and voltaic maximalist composition focused music project of Jesse Gelina, a self-taught Canadian musician and composer. Most of his music was made live on Twitch, out of a desire to explore and utilize the software instruments and sample libraries he has collected over the years. Structurally, the first hundred songs he created are simple, with each song typically being built around a single chord progression on guitar. However, despite this, the music is melodically very dense. Early releases were very rough sounding (Metaphysical Fermentation Problems... yikes), but the quality of the material improved over time as he accumulated more knowledge and better plugins. Starting with Idiosyncratic Somatics, multi-chord progression songs have become the norm.

Saint Coelacanth material exists as a feeder project for Jesse's mainline music endeavours. Many of these songs have potential to become 'real songs' in Jesse's mind... if he can remember how to play them, that is!
