Saivite is Sankar Narayanan, a psytrance music producer and DJ from South India. He is known for his unique genre of “Mantric Psytrance” – a combination of psytrance elements with spiritual mantras which traditionally help listeners and chanters reach a meditative state. His most popular track, “Kandha Sashti Kavasham” has garnered more than a million views on Youtube and about half that amount of plays on Soundcloud.
Sankar Narayanan was born in the city of Chennai, India. He started learning drums at the age of 4, and began his musical journey while playing for a progressive rock band. During his years in the band, he was endorsed by Turkey based cymbal company, "Soultone Cymbals". While exploring the depths of progressive rock, his interest towards electronic music grew and he found the mind-bending genre of psytrance. After spending considerable time honing his skills as a DJ and electronic music producer, he began his project "Psyvite" in 2014. What followed was an amazing reception from audiences for his first few tracks and he began playing gigs in and around Chennai. Since then, he has played at massive psytrance fests like the Spirit Gust Festival, Goa in December 2015 And Kundalini Shakti Festival, Kasol 2016, connecting to listeners on a deeply spiritual and emotional level with his unique brand of Mantric psytrance.
