Saliva Bastards, an archetype of many following bands, was formed in 00s. The band comprised of Mahasmut “Gene” Bunyaraksh lead vocal/guitar); Pavin “Pek” Prakobsantisukh (lead vocal/guitar); and Chaiyuth “Earth” Yuthavoradejkul (bass). Their debut self-titled album features Thai and English songs with an array of idiosyncratic sounds from pop/rock sequences and groovy beats to narcotic rhythms—and poignant lyrics revolving around youth. The topic of friendship and relationship are being illuminated in a witty angle with a tinge of sarcasm and quirk.
On top of that, they also got Moderndog’s Thanachai “Pod” Uchin working on this album as the producer. The band has released two music videos, “Ja Wa Mai” and “U & Me” directed by prominent film directors Pen-ek Ratanaruang and Wisit Sasanatieng respectively.
