Salvador Sobral lived in the USA, Mallorca, and Barcelona, where he studied Jazz.
In 2016, he released his first solo album, Excuse Me. In 2017, he participated in the Festival da Canção, performing the song Amar pelos Dois, written by Luísa Sobral, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest that year, receiving the highest score ever. In early 2019, he released his second self-titled album, Paris, Lisboa, which led him on an extensive tour around the world and Portugal. In February 2024, he became the first Portuguese artist invited to perform, alongside Silvia Pérez Cruz, at the prestigious Goya Awards ceremony, marking one of the most unforgettable moments of the event. According to Caetano Veloso, "(...) he is one of the greatest singers in existence".With his released albums, he is one of the most internationally recognized Portuguese artists today.
