As a Nashville native raised in a family of singers, songwriters, and musicians, Sam Cannon speaks fluent music. After receiving a formal education in studio engineering at Nashville’s Blackbird Academy and film and video game scoring through Scorecraft Academy, studying under Michael Whittaker, Sam Cannon has quickly become the trusted composer and producer for many. His natural abilities were first debuted when he was 5 as the drummer in his family band, Loaded Cannon, and by middle school, his sense of rhythm and groove spread to the digital world where he dove into producing and composing electronic music. After high school, Cannon’s passion for music, combined with his love of story—especially the beautiful details of setting—led him to pursue a career composing music for film, tv, and video games.
His motivation when composing and producing music is his desire to move listeners emotionally, transporting them into an experience beyond listening. Cannon’s goal is to be a lifelong leaner who pushes himself to work hard and use the talents and abilities he’s been given for a higher purpose than simply mixing sounds.
