This music is the home recording project of singer songwriter, Sam VanLaningham. I started writing and recording punk, metal and grunge with band mates in the late 80s. I am now making acoustic/electric/synth rock, blues and pop songs. My songwriting almost always has pop tendencies but I also seek to sound somewhat original and also hope to relay my deepest creative and emotional places. Influences that i believe most impact my music are Black Sabbath, Stevie Wonder, Screaming Trees, Willie Nelson, Wilco, Metallica, Nirvana, Otis Redding, Bruce Springsteen, John Lee Hooker, R.L. Burnside, Hank Williams Sr., The Police, Bad Brains, etc.
