SAMA is a roots reggae band based out of San Jose CA. Forming as a group in 2019, SAMA aims to bring underground roots reggae to the forefront of bay area music. With influences spanning respected roots and dub acts such as Ooklah the Moc, Midnite, Scientist, etc. to the more modern reggae sounds of bands like Stick Figure and Alborosie, SAMA combines deep reggae drums and tuff bass-lines to complement the ever so present key/guitar chop that defines the genre. Often touting a seven to eight person live setup, SAMA is no stranger to the bay's reggae scene. While playing shows around the bay area, in cities such as San Jose, Pacifica, etc. the group has also shared the stage with big name reggae stars like Leilani Wolfgram. The group prides itself on the ability to adapt to the always changing roster of its members and always brings the right vibe to get the night going.
