Swedish-Chinese American singer/songwriter, composer, and producer Samanta Liza is a self-taught musical medium.
Her music is a fusion of dance, 90s electronic trip hop, mid-1800s classical piano, 60s-70s psychedelic rock, tribal percussion, and pop melodies. Some of her favorite artists include Portishead, Chopin, Pink Floyd, Lana Del Rey, and Billie Eilish. Samanta spent most of her 20s in New York City, where she established a presence in the underground rave scene. She has performed at staple nightlife venues such as Mercury Lounge, Paradise Club, and Elsewhere (The Hall). She is also a composer for the NYC-based contemporary dance company, Company Rouge, which debuted in NYC in May 2024 and sold out three shows.
Now based in LA, she is releasing music under her new alias SAM SHI.
