Indonesian-based musician, instrumentalist, designer, and producer, Samuel Wullur started his music-crafting journey when he was 13. Harking back to his younger years, with fond memories as a pre-teen, armed with an old ‘98 Windows computer and Fruity Loops, it is fair not many discover their passions quite as early as him. It wasn’t long into his teenage years he’d develop a steady seriousness and an insatiable thirst for songwriting, that would further ignite his passion for music.
With a wide range of musicality, an open mind, and a massive curiosity, he has spent the past decade soaking up a multitude of genres and styles ranging from RnB, dream pop, jizz-jazz, hip-hop, and indie rock. Artists like Leon Ware, The Neptunes, Haruomi Hosono, Jamiroquai, Elliott Smith, and Daniel Johnston are just some of the musicians that went on to shape Samuel into the tastemaker he is today.
He has released 5 singles and an EP within a year. In that sense, there is no doubt that he is for sure unstoppable and unpredictable. Try to listen to some of his tracks like “Heckwitit” and “Smyl” and try to compare them both. Yes, it was Samuel’s voice. Also yes, he produced them both. We never know what we’re gonna get from him next. But one thing we know is that he loves to make surprises.
