Sanctum began in Sweden as the band November Commandment, later Nov*Com; influenced by '80s industrial-synth bands such as Front 242, the quartet released a demo cassette called Complete Structure on Krash Productions. For their next work, the Exile Station EP (released in 1993 by Motorised Mind Productions), Nov*Com added a goth-industrial sound with heavy guitars. Signed to Cold Meat Industry in 1994, the band changed its name to Sanctum and recorded their American debut. ~ John Bush, Rovi
