Serey is a pioneering hip hop artist, songwriter, content creator, and influencer working in Cambodia. Her work stands out from the majority of the country’s hip hop as she champions social justice in many of her most famous songs. Serey’s creativity in songwriting and RapNews has won her a committed fanbase and been successful in raising awareness of climate change and inequality issues among her young fans, empowering them to take positive action. As a result of this, she has collaborated with young Cambodian activists and international development organisations, including Action Aid and UNICEF. She is also active in shaping the cultural future of Cambodia, as a member of the Mekong Cultural Hub and CICADA (Creative Industries of Cambodia Association for Development and Advocacy).
