Berlin based artist Sarah Almoril has Spanish and Brazilian roots. Growing up in a small town in Germany, she was always strong minded and put her words into action, which is why she left her home at the age of 15. After some turbulent years, she started a successful career in modelling, fled to the city and found her home in the German capital.
Music has always been a pivotal part of her life, and in early 2020 she finally started to write and record her own. With only a small team surrounding her, she managed to put her deepest thoughts and feelings into songs. In the very first session, within just a few hours, “Heartbroken Kid” was written. A bittersweet banger full of heartache and anxiety.
The new single Darkest Nights is about all those fears we encounter after dark. In the lyrics, personal issues such as nightmares and sleep paralysis are captured in images and merge with the music. The minimalist use of synthesizer pad sounds develops within the song and turns into a huge wall of sound, which is crowned by a distorted guitar in the beat drop. With its climatic structure and Sarah's unique performance, Darkest Nights succeeds in creating an emotional and at the same time frightening atmosphere.
