Saskia Schalekamp (1980) is a singer-songwriter and writes Dutch-language listening pop and children's songs: poetic & playful, honest & imaginative. Her debut album 'Eiland in de stad' was released in 2014. She performed for two years together with drummer Floris van Elderen, bassist Maarten Vos and trumpeter Sybren van Doesum. She writes the children's songs with musician Niels Muller and producer Gerben Laing.
Kinderen voor Kinderen and Telekids
'Dat Was Papa', the song she once wrote for her own father, is on the 32nd Kinderen Voor Kinderen album and was included in the musical 'Waanzinnig Gedroomd'. Telekids released two of its children's songs: "Wij Vliegen Uit" and "Panda Paradijs".
Music Collective Fiere Vrouwen (Proud Women)
Saskia Schalekamp was in the final of Art Rocks with her song 'Beste Aletta'. This success inspired her to put more women in the spotlight and to set up the music collective Fiere Vrouwen together with Louise Hensen. They produced two theater performances, which toured throughout the Netherlands. The premiere of the first performance took place in a sold-out Amsterdam theater De Kleine Komedie.

Especially for the campaign "Hands off our girls", Saskia Schalekamp wrote the song "Dit wordt mijn jaar" with Louise Hensen, which was played in the Glass House. With 'Eiland in de stad' Saskia won the Esta songwriting competition. And 'Dit is mijn haven' was released by the Port of Amsterdam for Sail.
