Sassy 009

Sassy 009 is the sonic alter ego of Norwegian songwriter and producer Sunniva Lindgård. Raised between Stockholm and Oslo by classically trained musician parents, she was immersed in music from an early age, picking up multiple classical instruments before discovering the boundless possibilities of production software. That discovery sparked her shift from performer to creator, spending her late teens dialing in a sound that couldn’t belong to anyone else.

What began as a casual SoundCloud handle, Sassy 009 soon evolved into a full-fledged project. She’s since released two EPs, Do You Mind and KILL SASSY 009, followed by the introspective mixtape Heart Ego. Over time, her sound has caught the attention of a growing circle of artists, leading to organic collaborations such as with Clairo on their track Lara. She has even brought her distinctive touch to a range of remix projects, reimagining tracks by artists such as Empress Of, Kito & Lolo Zouaï, MØ, Agar Agar among others. Her own track Mystery Boy was remixed by UK producer Vegyn in 2023, adding a bold new texture to her catalog.

Her expressive, yet internal, quietly radical sound has been described as "a tour of her mental chambers" and "a reminder that, beyond the confines of any bedroom, there’s a turbulent world out there” (Clash Magazine). She finds inspiration in Scandinavian nature, surrealism and lonerism.
