SAULES LAIKRODIS (SOLAR CLOCK)
Started as Lithuanian student rock band in 1976 by core members Gintautas Rakauskas (bg, v) and Giedrius Kubilius (gt), the band gets its name - “Saulės laikrodis” (Solar clock) in 1980. By playing own compositions, the band positioned itself as a symphonic prog rock style. Few performances were composed, including – “City novels” (1981), “Indoor and outside” (1982), “Fragile world of toys” (1983), however, only “Indoor and outside” was recorded in 1983 and the band was prohibited.
In 2017 former members – Gintautas Rakauskas (gt,bg,v) and Robertas Vilcinskas (dr), together with Saulius Didziulis (kb) revived band’s activities and released new album - “Subliminal messages”.
