Formed in 2013 as a side project for <a href="spotify:artist:05fG473iIaoy82BF1aGhL8">Slipknot</a> drummer Joey Jordison, Scar the Martyr, which also features the talents of lead guitarists Jed Simon (<a href="spotify:artist:457qPvtiBTIl6LR4dZiKZy">Strapping Young Lad</a>) and Kris Norris (<a href="spotify:artist:4dso1lISV1Atdo3O6qbhqq">Darkest Hour</a>), keyboard player Matthew Tarach, bassist Kyle Konkiel, and vocalist Henry Derek, specializes in a hard-hitting, hook-filled blend of post-grunge and alternative metal that invokes names like <a href="spotify:artist:64tNsm6TnZe2zpcMVMOoHL">Alice in Chains</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1KHydwFySZY3YcWyo2q2dF">Neurosis</a>. The band issued its eponymous debut long-player on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Roadrunner+Records%22">Roadrunner Records</a> in September 2013. In May 2016, Jordison announced the dissolution of the band.
