Living on water and anxiety, Quebec’s impetuous quintet, is back in force with its first LP, Not dead yet, probably… Following two EPs, Scare! (2015) and Fleshed out (2016), this ten-track opus will be available on all digital platforms but will also be available on vinyl record, much to the delight of fans and collectors. It is the second vinyl out of Québec City's brand new pressing plant Le Vinylist.
Recorded at Broil Studio with the invaluable help of sound engineer Raphaël Malenfant, the album will be out on October 25 2019. This time, with more personal and straight forward lyrics, but still without feeling the need to reinvent the wheel, Scare aims to break the boundaries between styles while still riding at a tempo that makes you wanna take your motorcycle out.
Unafraid of odd musical arrangements, the two first tracks feature slightly unexpected guests : percussionist Melissa Labbé on the castanets and experimental artist and improviser Rémy Bélanger de Beauport on the cello.
Part of Montreal’s Pouzza Fest lineup for two years in a row, as well as Québec City’s Envol et Macadam, they have also shared the stage with Cancer Bats, Black Love and the noise-rock duo ’68. Inspired by the late Cursed, Mi Amore, Arkata, Buried Inside and Trigger Effect, as well as Converge and Tragedy, SCARE urges to celebrate the worst of human nature while still having a good time!
