Scarred Lip are an Edinburgh-based quintet blending raw emotion and atmospheric soundscapes. Formed in 2023 by Matthew Bakewell (vocals, guitar), Ciara Webb (piano, vocals), Dónal MacCarthy (bass), Richard Beeby (guitars, vocals) and Ewen McLennan (drums), the band crafts hauntingly beautiful music that explores themes of grief, love, and resilience. Their debut EP Fair Head (2024) introduced their evocative sound, and their upcoming album The Threshold (due May 2025) promises to deepen their reputation for powerful, intimate storytelling.
