Scott Ainslie

Country blues singer/guitarist Scott Ainslie was inspired to take up guitar when he heard the blues artist <a href="spotify:artist:5MILVVo7VphAV9mI9YltCN">John Jackson</a> play in 1967. He also underwent formal music training, however, graduating from Washington & Lee University with a B.A. in music theory and composition in 1974. In his career, he combined performing with academic work in music history, including various teaching programs and his book, Robert Johnson/At the Crossroads (1992). He appeared on albums by <a href="spotify:artist:1BkMjAUjBm9SDVzoMr8DB9">Tom Chapin</a> (So Nice to Come Home, Join the Jubilee) in the mid-'90s and released his debut solo album, Jealous of the Moon, through Cattail Music in 1995. It was followed by Terraplane (1998), You Better Lie Down (2002), The Feral Crow (2005), and Thunder's Mouth (2008).
