Since 2018, Scott Moncrieff has been a regular on the Shetland music scene both as a singer-songwriter and as part of several bands. His sets of original songs and covers have opened for acclaimed artists such as Kris Drever and Rachel Sermanni, as well as appearances at festivals including the Shetland Folk Festival, Rising North, and Tall Ships Lerwick.
Scott’s songwriting carries the early influence of artists like John Prine, John Martyn, and Dave Van Ronk, alongside the contemporary influence of Ben Howard, Hayden Pedigo, and Fionn Regan.
Following a move to Edinburgh in 2021, Scott has alternated busking in the city with fronting cover bands in Shetland, including classic rock band The Septic Tanks and grunge metal band Essykert, alongside an increasingly original solo set.
Scott self-released a single in 2022 and an acoustic demo at the beginning of 2025, with a growing catalogue on the way.
