Scott Routenberg enjoys a versatile and prolific career as an award-winning jazz pianist, composer, arranger and orchestrator. Awards include the John Lennon Songwriting Contest Maxell Song of the Year (first jazz winner), The ASCAP Foundation/Symphonic Jazz Orchestra Commissioning Prize, and the ASCAP Television and Film Scoring Workshop David Rose Scholarship. For over a decade, Routenberg has been an arranger for the Grammy-winning Metropole Orkest in the Netherlands.

Hailed as a "rising-star pianist" who has "found his own voice in the modern mainstream" (JAZZIZ), Routenberg has performed with internationally recognized jazz musicians at clubs, festivals, and venues worldwide. The Scott Routenberg Trio has released two critically-acclaimed albums on Summit Records—Every End is a Beginning (2017) and Supermoon (2018). Inside (2020, Summit) is a genre-bending, pandemic-inspired home studio album recorded during quarantine that explores the artist's electro-acoustic nu jazz roots. Routenberg founded his own label, Chroma Note Records, in 2024 with Headwinds releasing as the first single.

Routenberg served on the jury for the American Pianists Awards Jazz Piano Competition in 2019 and 2023 (the largest jazz prize in the world), where he helped choose Cole Porter Fellowship winners Emmet Cohen and Isaiah J. Thompson. Dr. Routenberg is tenured Associate Professor of Jazz Piano at Ball State University School of Music.
