Screaming at Traffic is a punk rock band from Winnipeg, MB. The quartet draws on aspects of pop punk, melodic hardcore, midwest emo, and indie-rock to produce a potent combination of technical ability, heart-wrenching lyricism, impassioned and imitable vocal performances, and songwriting that is alternately hooky, unconventional, or a bit of both.
The band’s debut album I Don’t Like Sports spent 19 weeks on !earshot campus community radio charts (peaking at #1) upon its release in 2019. Screaming at Traffic has toured consistently since, performed at Montreal’s Pouzza Fest, and has shared stages with genre veterans such as Good Riddance and Hot Water Music.
The band’s sophomore release – If You Play These Songs at a Party, You’ll Bum Everyone Out – shows Screaming at Traffic improving upon the strongest and most distinctive aspects of their debut, while experimenting with a few longer songs, more technical playing, as well as a more mature perspective on their lyricism as the band writes, and grows up together.
