Born and raised in Michigan, SCRWNY (pronounced scrawny) has a goal to become a leading force in the Future Bass and Hybrid Trap scene in Detroit.
Within the first year of releasing his first original song "Optimist", SCRWNY opened for Kaivon at The Intersection in Grand Rapids, MI. Before playing at the local venue in October 2022, SCRWNY released his second original single "Through Rose Colored Glasses". Since playing at The Intersection, he has gone on to play at The Tangent Gallery in Detroit and release more music.
After attending his first festival in 2015, SCRWNY has known this is what he's meant to do. Learning guitar that same year, his passion grew from alternative and rock music, to rap, EDM, and everything in between.
But SCRWNY's love isn't just for the music, but the entire music industry as a whole. Working across multiple venues in Detroit, selling merch, working guest services, networking, and more, there is no environment better fit for SCRWNY.
Continuously toning his sound, SCRWNY has continued pursuing his melodic side with a remix of Chelsea Cutler's "Sad Tonight" and crafts his heavier side with mixes like "SCRWNY Mix #2". Eager to put more original music out and make his mark in Detroit's EDM scene, SCRWNY is just getting started.
